Patient and family centered care

Memorial Health practices patient and family centered care (PFCC). This initiative allows patients and their loved ones to be involved in their care and work as part of the healthcare team. They’re invited to participate in decision-making and may even help with certain procedures. They can have as much or as little involvement as they want, based on their own comfort level. The core concepts of PFCC are:

  • Dignity and Respect – healthcare providers honor the family’s choices and respect their decisions.
  • Information Sharing – healthcare providers communicate with patients and families in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
  • Participation – patients and families are encouraged to participate in care and decision-making.
  • Collaboration – healthcare leaders work with patients and families to constantly improve the level of care.

We’re proud to offer this innovative style of care for our patients, families, and friends.

Smoking policy

Memorial Health University Medical Center has a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not allowed inside or outside any of our facilities. This is to protect the health of our patients, visitors, and Team Members. Thank you for adhering to our smoke-free policy.

Spiritual care
