He received his medical education from Mercer University School of Medicine, and completed residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center. Dr. Patel completed his fellowship at the University of Florida at Gainesville. He specializes in providing medical care for senior adults. His approach to care is to empower patients to be the best managers of their own health. He does that by educating them about their illness and giving them ways to treat diseases and their complications. Most importantly, he helps them learn about the medicines they are taking and the potential side effects. As a geriatrician, Dr. Patel considers the whole patient before treating medical conditions -- their physical, emotional and mental health as well as their illness. He says he enjoys the challenge of piecing together a diagnosis based on symptoms and lab or imaging results. Then, he can create the perfect "recipe" for treating his patients' particular disease.
